Overview

The goal of the special semester is to provide a stimulating environment for biologists, physicists and mathematicians to jointly address emerging challenges in quantitative biology. Problems in the fields of

Bioimaging
Biomechanics and Chemotaxis
Ion Channels
Pattern Formation and Functional Morphology
Systems Biology

will be studied by exploring mathematical methods from the areas of

Inverse Problems
PDEs
Stochastics
Dynamical Systems

Leading experts, talented post-docs and doctoral students will have the opportunity to collaborate at RICAM in an interdisciplinary atmosphere in order to gain new perspectives and to develop novel approaches.

While the program features workshops, social events and a culminating meeting at the University Center Obergurgl in the Austrian Alps, the participants are encouraged to organize additional research activities according to their ideas and needs.

Funding is available both for longer and for shorter stays at RICAM. If you are interested in participating as a lecturer, workshop organizer, long term or short term visitor, please send a note of interest to ssqbm-office@ricam.oeaw.ac.at.
