This workshop aims at covering the wide and growing field of PDE-constrained optimization as well as to range over a number of challenging applications. Optimization problems where the dynamics evolve according to a system of partial differential equations arise in a great variety of fields such as physics, chemistry, material science, geophysics, engineering, medical imaging, biological issues. Inverse problems, control or optimal design issues often consist of solving a PDE-constrained optimization problem. Theoretical as well as computational and implementation aspects will be covered as well in this workshop, showing wide applicability to various areas.
